Fees and Payment Options
Please note: I can not bill insurance for marital/couple counseling or other non-diagnosable issues, but can consider private pay fee reduction based on your income.
I am not currently accepting new clients with private or commercial health plans or insurance, except that I will provide "superbill" receipts for clients with PPO plans in which the client pays for services up front and submits receipts for reimbursement. (See "PPO" below.)
The only health plans or non-client payors that I am accepting at this time are:
1) Medi-cal through Contra Costa Health Plan (Contra Costa County only).
2) California Victim Compensation Program (formerly known as Victims of Crime or VOC).
Clients with PPO Insurance may see any provider they choose, although seeing a non-preferred provider may cost somewhat more than a provider that is contracted with your insurance.
Clients with PPO insurance must pay full fee (cash or check) at the start of each session. I can provide a thorough billing statement ( a "super-bill") for you to use for reimbursement of your fees from your insurance company.
Fees range from $130 for individual adult, child or parent/caregiver sessions to $150 for couple counseling or other family sessions.
There is a one-time fee of $260 for an initial Diagnostic Evaluation, which includes provision of a written Treatment Plan
For those without insurance, or who prefer not to use their insurance, a sliding scale is available depending on your income. The sliding scale ranges from $80 to $130 per 45 minute adult, child or parent session. The fee for the initial Diagnostic Evaluation, which includes provision of a written Treatment Plan, is twice the cost of the individual sessions.
I provide clinical consultation for therapists working with children. The fee is $130 per hour. A discount is available for therapists who provide services mostly to Medi-cal or low-paying clients.
Letters to schools, doctors, courts, etc. can be provided to clients at the hourly rate of $130.
